About VoiceOver:
VoiceOver is a built-in screen reader that audibly describes what appears on your computer screen, speaking the text in documents and windows. To activate VoiceOver, press Command-F5.
When a supported refreshable braille display is connected, VoiceOver detects the display and conveys screen information using contracted or uncontracted braille. With a Multi-Touch trackpad, you can use VoiceOver gestures to navigate and interact with screen elements. VoiceOver is primarily controlled with a keyboard, braille display, or trackpad instead of a mouse.
Key Features:
VoiceOver Commands: Navigate and interact with items on the screen using Control and Option keys, known as VO keys. Customize commands for keypad, keyboard, braille display, and trackpad gestures.
VoiceOver Cursor: A dark rectangle indicates the focused area on the screen, allowing users to select buttons, read, and edit text.
Quick Start Tutorial: An interactive tour of VoiceOver basics, available at startup or by pressing VO-Command-F8.
Customization: Personalize VoiceOver settings using VoiceOver Utility to suit your needs.
